Lapping and Polishing Slurries

Polishing Slurries Saint-Gobain CRE slurries are water or oil-based rust-inhibited slurries designed to be compatible with most conventional abrasives.  Saint-Gobain offers CRE slurries in many different abrasive types including tightly sized calcined alumina, fused alumina, silicon carbide, boron carbide, colloidal silica, zirconia, and cerium oxide.

 

 

Applications

  • Optical glass polishing (quartz, lenses, tv tubes)
  • Lapping and polishing of ceramics:  sapphire, AlTiC, SiC and WC
  • Lapping and polishing of metals:  316L, 4120, piston rings and others
